How can Numocore help me maintain connections in the digital age?

Connection is, of course, an integral part of Numocore. We emphasize connecting with ourselves through

  • mindfulness practice

  • meditation practice

  • asking ourselves some of the deeper questions about what our goals are and even who we are deep down

We also emphasize connecting directly with the planet, for example, by

  • putting our feet in the soil

  • getting out in the sun

  • spending time in nature among plants, trees, flowers, mountains, rivers, oceans, and more

How about connecting with others? Well, the digital age is all about connecting with others. The question is: What kind of connection is it? This is where things can be tricky. It's possible for me to connect with others via social media, but is that giving me the same kind of nourishment as in-person interaction? Studies show that kids who are interacting mostly on social media are not developing the same social skills as children who are interacting in person. So all connections are not equal. Digital connections are helpful for bringing people who are separate by long distances together for conversations, but they're not a replacement for the in-person social skills and energy we feel in the presence of other people physically.

By aligning the mind and the body through Numocore practices, including the specific Connection practices mentioned earlier, we increase our connection with ourselves, others, and the planet. The more we connect in all of these different ways, the more we heal individually and collectively.
