1pm, 2pm, 3pm... keep going and you come back to 1pm.
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday... keep going and you come back to Tuesday.
Dec, Jan, Feb... keep going and you come back to Dec.
Start walking from any point on Earth, 1 step, 2 steps, 3 steps... keep going and you come back to where you began.
But when it comes to our years, we've confused ourselves. We believe this is 2023 and so next year will be 2024, then 2025... but when does it reset? When is the revolution complete?
If the hours of a day are markers of a complete rotation of Earth on its axis, then years are markers of a complete rotation of our sun system around the center of the Milky Way Galaxy. So we are somewhere in a 230 million year cycle. And most assuredly, this year is not 2023 and the next is not 2024.
To believe that years are linear is be locked into the coffin-like concept of linear time rather than the splendor of nature's rhythms. It makes the mind small and the vision dim. Just as we came into this birth and will leave it one day, our sun system enters a cycle and leaves it for next upward revolution. Feel this rhythm, and time explains itself.
