All people have psychedelic-like experiences. Many or most will either not remember them or not talk about them because it is considered unscientific, usually by those who don't understand the roots of science.
Many such experiences can happen in the transition between dream and waking states, or in periods when we "zone out." The real tragedy is that we are not educated to understand different states of consciousness and how they may relate to what we call the material world. Without this understanding, the mind can't hold on (remember) an experience.
If you're interested in a worldview that integrates all these and is consistent with science, see the Three Minds Framework.
